Vreau doar o sărutare, nu o sută,
Când ziua cu noaptea se sărută,
Când cerul, într-o îmbrăţişare mută
Cuprinde tot pământul,
Când vântul risipeşte norii,
Când clipele uitării
Sunt doborâte de clipele disperării;

Vreau doar o sărutare printre maluri,
Când marea iubirii 
E răscolită de valuri,
Când tristeţea poartă mii de voaluri,
Când fericirea-i căţărată 

Pe cele mai înalte dealuri;

Vreau doar o sărutare dintr-o mie,
Când desenez pe-o simplă hârtie
Chipul tău, iubitul meu;
Vreau să ne iubim mereu,
S-avem acelaşi Dumnezeu
Care ne-a dăruit
Iubirea fără de sfârşit!

I want just a kiss, not a hundred,
when the day kiss the night,
When the sky, in a silent embrace
envelop entire earth,
when the wind scatters the clouds,
when the moments of forgetfulness
are mixed with the moments of despair.

I want just a kiss among shores
when the sea of love is ransacked by waves,
When the sadness has thousands of veils
and the happiness is on the highest hills.

I want just a kiss from thousand of kisses,
When on a simple paper
I draw your face, my love,
I'd like to have the same God
that gave us the love without end!
